91¶¶Òõ

Once you have received your results and accepted your offer, you will be sent an accommodation information document by 91¶¶Òõ. This will outline the year’s accommodation charges and the different possible housing options.  

As there are only two first year accommodation buildings, you can express a preference for which size, or band, room you would prefer. Our accommodation team will make every effort to meet your requests, but we cannot guarantee you will receive your first choice.

If you do not express a preference, you will still be allocated a room.

When you first arrive at 91¶¶Òõ, you'll move into a room in one of two bright, modern accommodation blocks on the College site. The vast majority have en-suite bedrooms, while a handful share a bathroom between just two rooms.

Each student room contains a bed with a mattress cover, a pillow and an under-pillowcase. There is a desk with a desk chair and light, an easy chair, a bookcase or shelves and a wardrobe.

Kitchens are shared by groups of students. They have a four-ring cooker, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer and a sink; and each student has her own lockable cupboard. 

In Pearl House (the main first year accommodation block), there are 15 bedrooms on each floor, whereas in Paula Browne House (the additional first year accommodation block) there are 10 bedrooms. These rooms are of two sizes and priced accordingly.

The room sizes fall into two Rent Bands: Band A (18.5³¾Â²) and B (16.5³¾Â²).  

The accommodation cost for next academic year is currently being calculated, so we cannot share the charges for next academic year.  

The table below is an example that shows the cost of the rooms this year (2025-2026). The updated cost for 2026-2027 will be published in due course.

This accommodation charge is all inclusive. It covers costs such as the rent of the room, kitchens, heating and lighting, security, IT support/WiFi, maintenance and cleaning of your room and communal areas, upkeep of the grounds, building insurance, residential management/administration and billing.

All rooms are licensed to students for 31 weeks of the academic year.

If you wish to stay for any nights outside these dates, you will need to request them from the Accommodation Office.

If your request is accepted, you will be allocated a temporary room and will be charged a nightly rate. 

All bedrooms have a single lockable wardrobe to store some of your belongings over the Christmas and Easter vacation period. Additionally, the College has a 'Valuables Store' for storing computers and musical instruments at the end of term. If you need to store other items, you can do so, but you will need to contact the Accommodation Office.

Accommodation is available for undergraduates for the entire duration of their degree and there are a number of options open to you.

There are many different forms of financial support offered by 91¶¶Òõ and the University of Cambridge.

Students are not expected to undertake paid work during term-time. Cambridge seeks to keep student living costs manageable, and the vast majority of students do not work during term-time, concentrating instead on their academic studies and co-curricular/social activities. Cambridge terms are short so many students work during the vacations. 

91¶¶Òõ does offer several paid internal roles that students can engage with during term time. These include working for the College bar, becoming a student ambassador and a Gateway advisor. 

Your Faculty or Department is responsible for arranging lectures, seminars, and practicals (where relevant). As a result, these do not take place within 91¶¶Òõ. Instead, these will be held in faculty and departmental buildings. 

Supervisions are organised by your Director of Studies, who will be a member of 91¶¶Òõ. These may take place on College premises or elsewhere, depending on where your supervisor (the person leading the supervision) is based. 

91¶¶Òõ offer academic and pastoral support to help students throughout their time at the university.

Both the College and the University offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities: there are various sports clubs (including rowing, rugby, tennis and swimming); academic societies (including the Law Network, Maths Circle and  Bell Burnell Society); and other, hobby based societies (like the Music Society, Film Society, Baking Society and Knitting Society).
