Mask II is the second in a series of seven masks. The first was of woven steel construction, this second is made of fibre glass and resin and represents what is under or behind the first mask.

Annie Tappenden has written “Our personalities are made up of layer upon layer. Like our seven layers of skin, each one of the masks reveals a different facet of ourselves, protecting our human fragility and establishing our collective strength.â€
